In times of digitization, social media and the search for perfection, the project focuses on the question of whether RealDoll love dolls could replace the human partner.
A RealDoll is designed and manufactured according to the personal preferences of the customer and adapts to every need. The contrast between technical processes and ethical boundaries shows the explosiveness of this theme, which becomes more and more relevant in the following years. Photographer Monika Hanfland gives insights into the production, handling and use of love dolls in German households in her photo book. The documentary photographic examination is divided into five chapters and was detained in a hardcover book with linen cover.
